About the position

As a Senior Manager, Payroll at BambooHR, you will lead the payroll onboarding team, focusing on developing talent, defining success metrics, and fostering collaboration across departments. Your role is pivotal in enhancing processes, driving efficiencies, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for clients. You will be responsible for managing high-performing teams, conducting compensation discussions, and promoting a positive company culture while achieving strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and retain top talent to ensure headcount is fully utilized.
  • Define, capture, and report on metrics that promote the right behaviors from the team and drive overall success.
  • Design and continually refine the process for onboarding payroll clients.
  • Conduct compensation and career advancement discussions with teams.
  • Help other groups recognize their touchpoints with the client and the impact on their experience.
  • Analyze team processes consistently and develop changes to promote increased efficiencies.
  • Develop interdepartmental collaboration that promotes client retention and PM growth opportunities.
  • Identify resources needed for the Payroll Imp team and ensure collaboration and coordination.
  • Protect BambooHR's culture by strategically thinking about decisions that affect policies and practices.
  • Develop and achieve objectives and goals to support company vision and initiatives.
  • Maintain high eNPS for the team and high NPS/CSAT for customer experience.
  • Responsible for resource planning and careful management of human capital.
  • Maximize return and maintain team morale.
  • Grow key talent to other areas of CX or for leadership roles.
  • Handle hiring, firing, and improvement plans for underperforming employees.
  • Conduct final interviews for all department hires.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in payroll, including onboarding dynamics and processes.
  • Experience in a SAAS environment.
  • 5+ years of successful management experience, preferably in onboarding or implementation.
  • Experience in having difficult conversations in a management role.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds key performance indicators in prior roles.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to function successfully in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong leadership skills to work confidently with multiple departments and levels within the company.
  • Ability to de-escalate client and internal situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience processing/running payroll for an organization.
  • Experience with new software implementations.
  • Professional experience in implementation project management or human resources.
  • Proven ability to learn software programs quickly.
