About the position

The Sr. Manager, Payroll at Omnicell is responsible for overseeing payroll operations for the US and Canadian divisions. This role involves managing payroll staff, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll processes. The manager will lead a team, implement process improvements, and ensure timely payroll processing while adhering to financial controls and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages payroll function of processing timecards, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records and calculating payrolls.
  • Configure earnings and deduction codes according to regulatory tax rules.
  • Ensures timely and accurate W2 and T4 processing.
  • Understands compensation regulatory environment including FLSA, Federal, State and local tax laws.
  • Leads, evaluates, and develops staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Assists with documentation and support requested for annual audits of financials, 401(k) plans, workers compensation, SOX controls etc.
  • Reviews and approves payrolls for accuracy.
  • Reviews and approves payroll journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy.
  • Ensures payroll, month-end and quarter-end deadlines are met.
  • Understands the recording and taxation of stock income.
  • Develops and responds in a timely manner to payroll related data requests with accurate information.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of payroll information and respects privacy laws.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of US multi-state payroll regulations.
  • Broad knowledge in accounting, payroll, labor laws and payroll tax.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of SOX as it relates to compliance with the regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment.
  • Results oriented, dependable, analytical and personally accountable for work quality and timeliness.
  • Ability to problem solve, analyze, and interpret complex data.
