About the position

The Sr. Manager of the Platform Team at Kimberly-Clark is responsible for leading a large team to ensure operational excellence in manufacturing processes. This role focuses on safety, quality, cost management, productivity, and continuous improvement, while fostering a proactive team environment. The manager will collaborate with various teams to drive performance and capability development, ultimately contributing to the delivery of high-quality products to consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day direction to process techs and asset teams.
  • Arrange for proper support from reliability and platform engineers for plan of the day.
  • Manage cost of manufacturing including operating supplies, waste, labor, and cost savings.
  • Partner with reliability team to manage maintenance costs.
  • Develop strategy and tools to deliver a budget.
  • Collaborate with planning on the production schedule, rates, and sequence to deliver customer service.
  • Use effective business communication with all stakeholders, corporate support teams, employees, and external contacts.
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships with a Total Cost of Ownership mindset.
  • Lead the development of department objectives and action plans for delivery.
  • Lead organizational change, build relationships, and drive performance.
  • Accountable for the capability development of team members.
  • Coordinate with Training 4 Excellence to facilitate skills development.
  • Lead operations teams to support mill/regional/global continuous improvement efforts and initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business or relevant discipline.
  • 7 years or more of related experience in Operations, Business, Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Maintenance.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge in people management and/or technical areas of expertise.
  • Ability to organize, influence, and lead a multi-functional team.
  • Experience in multiple mills, product systems, and staff experience, along with leadership of a non-exempt workforce.
  • Proficient in LEAN business practices.
  • Ability to role model and teach 4 step simple problem solving, LSW, Visual Management, 5S.
  • Ability to build and manage to a budget.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with Total Cost of Ownership principles.
  • Experience in leading large teams in a manufacturing setting.
