About the position

The position is for a Design Leader within the Product Design team at ServiceNow, focusing on enhancing post-sales tools and experiences. The role involves overseeing a portfolio of products, mentoring team members, and collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to innovate and execute product roadmaps. The Design Leader will be responsible for conducting user research, developing design concepts, and ensuring a cohesive user experience across the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of products while acting as a mentor and manager to subordinates.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering from strategic definition to tactical execution of the Product Roadmaps.
  • Conduct user needs assessments, task analysis, and develop user profiles; identify key tasks for user research, competitive analysis, and user testing.
  • Develop high-level task flow content and use storyboards and other design documents to communicate concepts and vision.
  • Lead the team through rapid iteration of theoretical task scenarios, navigation maps, flow, and state-transition diagrams to document design decisions.
  • Oversee the team's work, including detailed mockups, prototypes, and behavior specifications.
  • Understand and contribute to the company's Design Systems, encouraging their application and further development.
  • Participate in the documentation development process such as user experience specifications, testing, and evaluation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience managing people and/or leading design teams.
  • 9+ years of experience in Product Design and/or Interaction Design.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • An inspiring portfolio demonstrating the ability to lead teams and distill complex problems into elegant, holistic solutions based on human-centered design and research data.
  • Experience in leading teams developing frameworks and principles to standardize and guide cross-team work.
  • A growth mindset, actively seeking new opportunities and challenges.
  • Ability to articulate and champion design solutions based on human-centered design principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications.
  • Experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web, or agency).
