About the position

The Senior Manager, Program Product Development at Royal Caribbean Group is a pivotal role within the Product Development PMO team, responsible for managing strategic ship and land projects. This position involves overseeing a complex portfolio of initiatives, reporting to Senior Executive-level leadership, and ensuring project completion within prescribed time frames and budgets. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and mentor project managers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple broad and complex programs consisting of multiple projects of work in support of guest experiences on cruise ships and private island destinations.
  • Create and maintain the overall program schedule by collecting necessary data points from various project managers and team leads.
  • Act as the hub of knowledge for program portfolios and articulate how and when various projects will deliver.
  • Aid in the creation of portfolio level roadmaps that summarize tracks of work, progress, and status for all levels of the organization.
  • Support the growth and mentorship of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day administrative and reporting details of assigned projects.
  • Oversee the delivery of project management methods through a team of professionals.
  • Utilize project management tools and industrial engineering techniques to maintain a portfolio of projects.
  • Review status reports prepared by project managers and modify schedules or roadmaps as required.
  • Oversee the coordination of major activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and accurately reflects current project status.
  • Track progress of owner supply specification, requisition, and procurement.
  • Work with the Financial Department to track the owner supply budget, cost control, and reporting.
  • Lead and organize the team in the development of monthly presentations for senior executives.
  • Oversee preparation of project reports related to fleet mod/land projects for management, clients, or others.
  • Remain current with industry trends related to contemporary project management techniques.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of work experience as Project Manager or in a similar position.
  • Experience managing portfolios with annual budgets exceeding $50M.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading a small team of professionals.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong ability to manage clients and partners.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, financial, and spreadsheet modeling skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certified preferred.
  • Change Management experience in a global organization preferred.
  • Exposure to Data Visualization tools is a plus.
  • Experience with Smartsheet platform is a plus.
  • BI Analytics & Data Visualization Experience is a plus (Tableau, Power BI).
