About the position

The Senior Manager, Program Product Development at Royal Caribbean Group is a pivotal role within the Product Development PMO team, responsible for managing strategic ship and land projects. This position oversees a complex portfolio of initiatives, ensuring effective communication and reporting to Senior Executive-level leadership. The role requires strong leadership, project management skills, and the ability to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams to achieve project goals within budget and time constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple broad and complex programs consisting of multiple projects of work in support of guest experiences on cruise ships and private island destinations.
  • Create and maintain the overall program schedule by collecting necessary data points from various project managers and team leads.
  • Act as the hub of knowledge for program portfolios, articulating how and when various projects will deliver.
  • Aid in the creation of portfolio level roadmaps summarizing tracks of work, progress, and status for all levels of the organization.
  • Support the growth and mentorship of Project Managers and Associate Project Managers within the portfolio.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day administrative and reporting details of assigned projects.
  • Oversee the delivery of project management methods through a team of professionals, providing leadership to effectively manage the portfolio of projects.
  • Utilize project management tools and industrial engineering techniques to maintain a portfolio of projects.
  • Review status reports prepared by project managers and modify schedules or roadmaps as required.
  • Oversee the coordination of major activities (meetings, workshops, charrettes) to ensure project progress on schedule and accurate updates of tasks and statuses.
  • Track progress of owner supply specification, requisition, and procurement, working with the Financial Department to manage the owner supply budget and cost control.
  • Lead and organize the development of monthly presentations for senior executives, overseeing preparation of project reports related to fleet mod/land projects.
  • Remain current with industry trends related to contemporary project management techniques.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of work experience as Project Manager or in a similar position.
  • Experience managing portfolios with annual budgets exceeding $50M.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven experience in leading a small team of professionals.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, with clear and precise communication at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strength in communicating in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong ability to manage clients and partners effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, financial, and spreadsheet modeling skills.
