About the position

The Sr. Manager, Public Sector Business Operations at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for driving operational leadership and expertise within the Public Sector organization. This role focuses on optimizing business operations, managing compliance processes, and implementing public sector programs to ensure compliant sales to public sector entities. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments, excel in problem-solving, and take initiative to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive business operational leadership and subject matter expertise for the Public Sector organization.
  • Optimize business operations and manage compliance processes.
  • Implement public sector programs and initiatives to ensure compliant sales.
  • Act as a sales advocate and partner to internal public sector organizations.
  • Provide Public Sector SME support across key initiatives such as pricing strategy and product bundling.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly contract reporting as required.
  • Ensure document retention in accordance with internal and external policies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to provide RFP/RFI and proposal guidance.
  • Assist bid/proposal teams to ensure compliant responses to RFX's.
  • Collaborate with parties to generate required compliance documents for deal closure.
  • Ensure required approvals for discounts and contractual terms are obtained and documented.
  • Assess compliance of reseller & distributor pricing schedules under public sector contracts.
  • Train internal functional areas on compliance requirements for awarded public sector contracts.
  • Promote ethical leadership and address ethics and compliance issues consistently.
  • Serve as primary liaison between sales organization and IT, InfoSec, Product Management, and GCAT for Public Sector certifications.
  • Support the FedRAMP High / DoD Impact Level product roadmap in conjunction with Public Sector GCAT team.
  • Execute Foreign Military Finance (FMF) Program and maintain program materials.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in a Public Sector tech environment, preferably in cybersecurity.
  • Experience in sales/strategy operations or program management role.
  • Strong program management skills and Public Sector RFP management skills.
  • Experience interfacing with Public Sector customers (Fed, State, Local & Education).
  • Salesforce platform experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability to build strong working relationships with internal business units.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, and/or financial analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of compliance activities related to US Public Sector certifications (FedRAMP, DoD IL, StateRAMP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
