About the position

The Senior Manager of Risk Management, Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) at Amazon is a pivotal role aimed at establishing Amazon as the world's most reliable shopping platform for safe and compliant products. The mission of the team is to protect customers from unsafe, illegal, or policy-violating products while enabling Selling Partners to offer a wide range of compliant products. This role is part of the Seller Compliance Enablement Vertical, which focuses on educating and engaging sellers, as well as enforcing compliance when necessary. The team employs a science-first approach to ensure trustworthy listings and develops user-friendly tools to simplify compliance processes for sellers. Additionally, the team actively engages with external stakeholders to build public trust in Amazon's commitment to customer safety and works to deter bad actors from participating in the marketplace. As a Senior Manager, you will manage a global team of risk managers and be accountable for establishing the vision, strategy, and implementation of key outcomes for the team. You will define, implement, manage, and execute program objectives, tracking metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate program efficacy and drive ongoing improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to evaluate existing controls and influence technology and science teams in developing scalable seller experience tools and workflows. Regular communication with senior leadership regarding progress towards goals and alignment with deliverables will be a critical aspect of this role. The position demands strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex technical and operational issues in clear business language, all while thriving in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a global team of risk managers.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Over 10 years of leadership and people management experience in a dynamic operational setting.
  • Proficiency in Program/Project management.
  • Demonstrated involvement in developing and contributing to strategic planning processes.
  • Proficient capability to gather and analyze data to inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Effective coaching and leadership skills that enhance team performance.
