About the position

The Senior Manager of Sales & Margin Accounting at CDW is a leadership role within the Finance organization, focusing on enhancing the efficiency of the financial closing process through simplification, standardization, and automation. This position involves collaboration with key business partners, talent development within the controllership, and expanding capabilities to meet future needs. The role emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and driving a growth mindset within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and management to the team, executing the final close processes.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for the monthly financial close and reporting processes, focusing on revenue recognition and gross margin for services businesses.
  • Analyze significant and/or complex revenue contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and execution of operational accounting processes.
  • Introduce thought leadership to advance financial closing processes, delivering insights into financial results through data-driven approaches.
  • Foster a growth mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovative solutions, and automation.
  • Coach and guide the team in skills and knowledge for success and career advancement.
  • Engage in critical thinking and problem-solving to enhance business partner collaboration.
  • Analyze financial results and provide value-added insights into business performance.
  • Maintain efficient business processes and internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and projects across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting with 6+ years of experience and 3+ years of management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders.
  • Advanced experience in revenue recognition guidance and application to complex scenarios.
  • Exceptional proficiency in financial close processes and financial software/tools.
  • Strategic mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • MBA or CPA is a plus.
