About the position

The Sr. Manager, Security Engineering will lead a global team of security engineers within the Amazon Stores Security team, focusing on protecting Amazon's information assets and ensuring the security of healthcare-related services. This role involves partnering with engineering leaders to implement secure-by-design principles, mentoring and developing a high-performing team, and driving the security architecture for Amazon's healthcare initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders in Amazon Health Services to drive secure-by-design and ensure services are secure at launch.
• Establish credibility as a trusted security advisor to stakeholders, including engineering leaders, peers, and employees.
• Partner with key stakeholders to drive implementation of security-related technical and process controls to remediate risks identified during engagement.
• Fostering, coaching, recruiting and scaling a team of world class security engineers; providing strategic and tactical oversight to the team and the program.
• Build organizational capability within teams by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably in Computer Science (or related discipline) or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of industry experience in secure software development and web application security.
• 10+ years people management experience building strong teams of 50+ people and managing managers.
• Strong and proven ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in cyber security
• 5+ years of experience as a software developer building large modular systems
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent.
