About the position

The Sr. Manager, Software Development Engineering at Zscaler is responsible for leading a team of developers to enhance CI/CD tools integration and automate the engineering infrastructure lifecycle. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve development workflows, oversee documentation, and ensure quality and speed in software delivery. The position requires a strong background in software engineering and management, with a focus on creating automated systems and leading projects in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers to improve CI/CD tools integration and operations.
  • Automate the CI and testing processes for large-scale engineering infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and testing teams to enhance development workflows.
  • Implement a self-service model to improve software delivery speed and quality.
  • Oversee and contribute to documentation efforts, promoting best practices.
  • Set shared expectations and ensure visibility around the release and deployment process.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, developer productivity, DevOps, or release management.
  • 4+ years of management experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with automating infrastructure for containers, bare-metal, and Virtual Machines.
  • Experience with Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and ArgoCD.
  • Expertise in container orchestration and management with a focus on scalable solutions.
  • An engineering mindset with a preference for automated and self-service systems.
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the customers assigned to this role.
