About the position

GoDaddy is seeking an experienced leader to support its software development team for the Managed WordPress platform. This remote position involves leading a motivated engineering team to develop a next-generation WordPress hosting platform, leveraging modern technologies and scalable design principles. The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and product leaders to enhance the customer journey and drive successful business outcomes, particularly during a period of rapid growth in AI and Machine Learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead a motivated engineering team in the development of the next-generation WordPress hosting platform.
• Deliver feature epics to production in sync with team sprint rhythm, track and improve team velocity, and provide reliable delivery estimates.
• Translate complex business objectives into simple, scalable solutions.
• Embrace a One System mindset and drive platform unification.
• Utilize data and analytics to enhance products and customer experience.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and testability.
• Influence decisions and outcomes during interactions with leaders, executives, and customers.
• Engage in Tech Talks, open-source contributions, hackathons, and other activities to recognize and celebrate accomplishments.
• Exemplify inclusive leadership behaviors and manage diverse talent.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience managing a development team.
• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• Expertise in designing highly scalable software solutions.
• Proficiency with languages such as PHP, Python, Golang, TypeScript, Rust, Lua.
• Proficiency with AWS and OpenStack technologies.
• Experience with automating various processes, from build tools to monitoring.
• Deep knowledge of agile development methodology.

Nice-to-haves

• Hosting industry experience, for WordPress or otherwise.
• Experience integrating software with Ceph, Cilium, Nomad, SELinux, NGINX Unit, and Traefik.
• Knowledge of software security best practices.
