About the position

The Sr. Manager Software Engineering - Real Time Platforms at Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing technology initiatives within the Enterprise platforms. This position involves developing and executing technology strategies that align with business objectives, driving innovation, and delivering impactful business outcomes. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders and managing a team of developers to ensure high-quality delivery of technology projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the domain's technology strategy including transformational roadmaps.
• Participate actively in project planning and prioritization sessions to ensure initiatives align with business goals.
• Own delivery excellence, ensuring high quality standards for code and applications.
• Ensure development quality and testing for effective transition of solutions from development to production.
• Manage and enforce enterprise architecture standards.
• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
• Staff, mentor, and grow technical talent within the team.
• Provide regular reports to senior executives on domain performance and incident management.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and integrate this knowledge to improve methodologies and solutions.

Requirements

• Deep expertise as a software engineering frameworks leader with experience in designing and implementing cloud-native business technology solutions.
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, advanced software design patterns & architecture, operations, and software engineering.
• Solid technical foundation with relevant experience in Java, Spring Boot, NodeJS, REST API, and real-time streaming architectures.
• Proven track record of delivering scalable cloud-native infrastructure and platform solutions to support APIs and real-time needs.
• Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
• Proven years of experience in developing scalable web applications and architectural standards.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of software engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with creating and operating API and/or real-time platforms at enterprise scale.
• 5+ years' experience with Amazon Web Services.
• 2+ years of experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch).
• Experience with deploying GraphQL infrastructure.
• Experience with managing Kafka infrastructure.
• Experience with managing enterprise-grade infrastructure for API platforms like Apigee, Mulesoft.
