As a Senior Engineering Manager at Warner Bros. Discovery, you will be at the forefront of leveraging software-based solutions to tackle complex data-driven challenges. Your primary focus will be on scaling existing data offerings and establishing a robust technical strategy that empowers engineers and leaders with the Data Platform. This role requires a deep understanding of our digital streaming service, combined with your expertise in engineering, infrastructure, data, and cloud technologies, to optimize and enhance our technical ecosystem. In this position, you will own the end-to-end architecture of the data platform, ensuring its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, security, and governance. You will collaborate closely with other engineers to design and build optimal platform solutions, working in partnership with various teams to develop foundational elements of the platform. Your responsibilities will also include creating tools and frameworks that enhance data processing, information retrieval, governance, and data quality in a user-friendly manner. You will be tasked with implementing cutting-edge AI/ML techniques, including Generative AI, to improve the efficiency of the platform and data engineering processes. Additionally, you will oversee the platform's 24x7 support availability and manage budgetary concerns, particularly regarding cloud expenditures. Promoting a culture of experimentation and data-driven innovation will be key, as you inspire and motivate your team through presentations and speaking opportunities. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in hiring, mentoring, and coaching engineers, fostering a team environment that prioritizes empathy, diversity, and inclusion.
