About the position
The Sr. Manager, Solution Architect at Capital One will lead the design and implementation of technology solutions within the Card Partnerships segment. This role involves providing technical leadership across multiple platforms, engaging with various stakeholders, and contributing to the architecture of broader Card and Enterprise teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for making critical technical decisions, managing conflicts, and ensuring high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead solutions architecture design for multi-platform/cross-platform solutions
- Conduct trade-off and impact analysis for technical decisions
- Demonstrate thought leadership and strategy in partnership with delivery and product partners
- Represent solutions in Architecture Review Boards and various discussions
- Present work products and strategies to product managers and technology leadership
- Act as a primary architecture point of contact for other teams
- Continuously learn as technology needs evolve
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in Software Engineering and Systems Architecture or Technology Solution design
- At least 2 years of experience creating solutions architectures in a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering
- 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect in large/complex organizations
- 8+ years of experience architecting, designing, and/or delivering scalable systems in a regulated environment
- 3+ years of experience working with internal and external business clients
- 3+ years of experience with AWS concepts and implementations
- Experience mentoring software engineers or architects
- AWS or equivalent certifications
