About the position

The Senior Manager Commercial Strategy (SMCS) plays a crucial role in the L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty division by developing and implementing strategic business plans that align with both retailer and L'Oréal goals. This position serves as the strategic hub for the commercial teams, ensuring that the 4P principles are effectively communicated and adapted as market conditions change. The SMCS acts as a liaison between internal cross-functional partners and the external commercial teams, ensuring that the strategic goals of the business unit are met through effective planning and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Creates, owns, and adapts the 4P Retail Strategy for the brand, ensuring timely availability to commercial teams.
  • Consolidates Commercial teams' promotion and distribution plans to represent a unified voice of external sales internally.
  • Partners closely with the external commercial team to achieve business objectives and execute the financial plan.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team to provide customer feedback and ensure brand plans are actionable with Commercial teams.
  • Balances short and long-term planning to support strategy development with tactical steps for achieving long-range outcomes.
  • Ensures customer segmentation is current based on marketplace trends and mergers.
  • Designs customer-specific planning processes with account teams, establishing timelines and deliverables.
  • Develops and maintains a high-performance culture within the team by clarifying and monitoring priorities, goals, and accountabilities.
  • Represents sales needs and timelines to various internal teams, ensuring the Sales perspective is heard in internal meetings.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree
  • 5+ years of CPG or equivalent experience; sales experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge and experience in IRI / Nielsen systems; experience with syndicated data is a plus
  • Analytical experience with a CPG background preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective business communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Persuasive presentation skills (visual and oral storytelling)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinking abilities
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to perform under pressure within tight deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint
