About the position

The Sr. Manager, Treasury Operations at Carhartt, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the Treasury department's functions, including onboarding new hires, process improvement, reporting, and trend analysis. This role involves leading a team to drive innovation and transformation within the Treasury function, collaborating with IT to implement advanced technology initiatives such as AI. The manager will focus on optimizing liquidity, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and promoting collaboration across various teams to achieve effective outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor and develop eCommerce Accounting Specialist, Billing Compliance and Cash Application teams.
  • Optimize liquidity through the management of daily cash flow operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and maintaining compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Manage borrowings to ensure sufficient and timely liquidity to meet funding needs, including optimizing interest expense and investing excess short-term cash.
  • Lead monthly bank reconciliation process, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting audit processes.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of eCommerce Accounting, Billing Compliance and Cash Application teams to develop and enforce strategies that maximize company cash flow and identify and timely manage exceptions between systems to avoid negative impact to consumers and customers.
  • Lead operational treasury functions, including the opening and maintenance of bank accounts and payment card merchant accounts.
  • Manage claims submitted under corporate insurance programs and partner with legal department or total rewards team to estimate total liability to the company.
  • Oversee bank fee management, evaluating and optimizing bank charges. Develop annual budgets and conduct monthly forecast analysis.
  • Establish and monitor policies for daily treasury activities, including managing daily cash position, funds transfer, payments and cash receipts, and Letters of Credit.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for eCommerce accounting to drive timely and accurate resolution, identify root causes and provide sufficient cross-training that delivers outcomes in alignment with industry standards.
  • Proactively drive continual automation, efficiency, and effectiveness within processes to support significant business growth and risk mitigation. Actively manage IT issues and enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations teams and IT teams, Credit, Customer Care, and Finance teams, as well as with external partners to deliver operational improvements that drive reductions in chargebacks or errors to customer account postings.
  • Support team members in creatively solving issues and develop escalation protocols that result in decisions being made timely and at the appropriate levels.
  • Monitor, track, and enforce department policies, procedures, and goals while identifying inefficiencies and proposing, developing, and documenting new concepts and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, Accounts Receivable or similar fields inclusive of 4 years of leadership experience with a track record of developing and attracting talent.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills including Excel for report building and complex data manipulation (VLOOKUP, Formulas, Pivot Tables).
  • Experience with large ERP, SAP preferred.
  • Experience with automation technologies within Accounting/Accounts Receivable, AI, optical character recognition (OCR), robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning (ML), and blockchain preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and external parties.
  • Ability to prioritize work and effectively work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment under strict timelines.
  • Detail and process-oriented, paying close attention to detail and maintaining accuracy.
  • Prudent negotiation skills exemplifying sound judgement and decision-making ability.
