About the position

The Sr. Manager of Process Engineering at Rivian Automotive is responsible for leading a team that manages engineering changes and implements the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) from the Supply Chain Engineering team. This role focuses on continuous improvement efforts, ensuring efficient material flow systems, and coordinating with various engineering and production teams to maintain production schedules without disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team managing all engineering changes and implementing the Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
  • Direct the work of engineers leading PFEP implementations and maintain Material Flow systems configuration in SAP.
  • Receive engineering and product change information from NPI and Launch teams, develop implementation plans, and coordinate with Production and Material Handling teams.
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of material flow equipment including carts, dollies, and racks.
  • Act as the department liaison for engineering work, coordinating with Supply Chain Engineering, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Process Engineering.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance material handling processes and drive cost reductions.
  • Maintain part and location signage in the plant and warehouse locations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain department 5T and visual management standards.
  • Provide analytics to support smooth execution of material flow processes.
  • Monitor and modify Min-Max levels for replenishment and optimize for lean flow.
  • Manage project functions for major events like new product launches and planned shutdowns.
  • Supervise a team of engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing execution systems.
  • Experience with Design software AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning Software SAP.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Knowledge of basic algebra and geometry.
