About the position

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Powertrain E-Motor at Lucid is responsible for leading the development of Powertrain line processes and equipment. This role involves collaboration with various cross-functional teams to ensure the effective design and installation of Powertrain equipment, contributing to the production of luxury electric vehicles. The engineer will utilize their technical expertise to implement engineering solutions, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure readiness for Powertrain line launches.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex equipment engineering development.
  • Develop manufacturing processes for motor winding, balancing, assembly, and EOL testing lines.
  • Prepare and procure all items for station readiness for Powertrain line launches.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all disciplines involved in specifying and engineering Powertrain equipment.
  • Work with project teams on all stages of Powertrain line development from conception to launch.
  • Implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design changes efficiently.
  • Utilize analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications/ disciplines.
  • Use 3D modeling and simulations to validate equipment designs.
  • Prepare and optimize Powertrain line layouts in collaboration with layout engineering.
  • Work with various equipment including robotics, end of arm tooling, pick and place automation, and more.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering required.
  • 5+ years in Powertrain E-Motor Equipment/ Manufacturing/ Process Engineering.
  • Experience in automotive Powertrain E-Motor equipment design/ sustaining is a must.
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly and professionally at various levels.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia, and Delmia.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of GD&T, winding equipment, trickle coating, spinning balancing, DC tools, Dyno testing, press equipment.
