At Lucid, we are committed to leading the future of luxury electric vehicles, and as a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Body in White (BiW) processes, you will play a pivotal role in this mission. Your primary responsibility will be to take the lead in process optimization using Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and to design new BiW equipment. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Product Engineering, and New Product Introduction, to ensure that the BiW process is effectively designed and implemented. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of quality and efficiency that Lucid is known for. In this position, you will demonstrate your ability to lead technical efforts and guide teams engaged in complex process development. You will be responsible for leading process optimization initiatives during product design and equipment engineering efforts, ensuring that all Body in White lines meet the established quality control standards. Additionally, you will coordinate launch activities with both Product and Plant Engineering, develop and implement PFMEA standards and policies, and help achieve defined objectives related to volume, worker density, costs, and safety. Your role will also involve identifying, trialing, and implementing new tools, equipment, and processes that can enhance quality and manpower efficiency. You will need to effectively manage and balance safety, quality, throughput, cost, and personnel to deliver maximum value to both the customer and the company. Furthermore, you will develop and implement training programs for production associates and prepare all necessary items for station readiness for BiW line launches. Utilizing your analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, and Design of Experiments (DOE), you will work with layout engineering to optimize BiW line layouts. Your experience with various equipment, including robotics, automation, and vision systems, will be essential in this role.
