About the position

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Propulsion Systems at Terran Orbital is responsible for developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes for propulsion systems in satellite technology. This role involves collaborating with design engineers, managing production transitions, and ensuring that manufacturing meets quality standards. The engineer will also troubleshoot existing processes and drive continuous improvements to enhance production efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimal manufacturing processes for propulsion systems.
• Support manufacturing issues on existing product designs and new satellite mechanisms.
• Provide design for manufacturability input during the design phase.
• Evaluate propulsion designs against key vehicle attributes.
• Design and implement production floor layouts for manufacturing flight hardware.
• Develop production procedures and manage transitions from development to production.
• Coordinate and execute testing of flight hardware.
• Identify tooling and work center capability needs for production.
• Lead production readiness reviews for transitioning to full-rate production.
• Resolve manufacturing and test discrepancies in collaboration with the quality team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering.
• Experience with propulsion systems and design software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred).
• Familiarity with Electrical, Thermal, Control domains, and internal combustion engines.
• Experience with at least one major Propulsion Subsystem.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in satellite manufacturing or aerospace industry.
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes in manufacturing.
