About the position

The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Eaton's IS AER FMC division in Los Angeles, CA, is responsible for providing technical support for application development and sustaining production engineering of hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical products. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance manufacturing processes, implement Lean Manufacturing principles, and ensure product quality and performance. The engineer will also focus on cost reduction, standardization, and troubleshooting issues related to product non-conformance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for application development and sustaining production engineering of components and systems.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers and project leads in determining work scope, tasks, and budgets.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and utilize Six Sigma methodologies to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product non-conformance and performance test failures.
  • Serve as a technical contact with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues using problem-solving tools.
  • Create and revise manufacturing process plans to minimize waste and maximize quality.
  • Develop technical expertise on hydraulic and pneumatic products with a focus on producibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing activities of products and components.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Familiarity with ITAR regulations and must be a U.S. person.

Nice-to-haves

  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 implementation.
  • Experience in low volume / high mix product environments.
