About the position
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at PCX Aerosystems leads engineering efforts related to the manufacturing processes of aerospace parts and products. This role is crucial for ensuring the production process is defined, controlled, and enhanced through continuous improvement and lean principles. The engineer will work closely with various teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement changes to improve efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Define, lead and control production processes including tooling and equipment.
- Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.
- Refine and enhance product/process by applying continuous improvement and lean principles.
- Partner with production leadership, quality, Production Control, and program management on cost-out projects.
- Own and implement changes to manufacturing processes in assembly, test, welding, and composites.
- Develop, maintain, and control the planning function for routers and BOM structure including Purchase Order Part Specification (POPS).
- Design tooling for product assembly and product testing.
- Problem-solve manufacturing-related issues using a structured and disciplined approach.
- Investigate, identify, and report root causes and lead the implementation of corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 7-10 years of experience in Manufacturing, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing.
- Aerospace industry experience in a manufacturing setting.
- BS in a technical discipline such as manufacturing engineering, engineering, design engineering, project engineering, or other technical related degrees.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with CNC milling and CNC turning.
- Knowledge of metal forming and composites manufacturing.
