About the position

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be an integral part of the Production team, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing and continuously enhancing all facets of our manufacturing, integration, and supply chain processes to align with design and business requirements. This includes a strong focus on safety, quality, cost efficiency, and ensuring on-time delivery. You will join a small yet expanding team of highly motivated individuals who are dedicated to delivering quality products and services punctually, with an emphasis on providing unquestionable value. Your responsibilities will encompass designing the build and integration processes for mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical/avionics products, conducting design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) reviews, and developing the necessary processes and infrastructure to facilitate business scaling. The projects you undertake will lay the groundwork for the operational framework of the business for years to come. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a safety-critical environment that transitions automated aviation systems from prototype to production, all within a hands-on setting.

Responsibilities

  • Building, integrating, testing, diagnosing, inspecting, and maintaining Reliable designed mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical/avionics assemblies, harnessing, interconnects, and other commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
  • Collaborating with the electrical/avionics, mechanical, and radar design teams, technicians, and aircraft mechanics to enhance the velocity of product development.
  • Representing the production organization in all design reviews and partnering with responsible engineers to evaluate designs for cost, producibility, inspectability, consistency, adequacy, accuracy, and conformance to requirements.
  • Assuring product and process quality by testing finished-product and process capabilities, establishing standards, and developing manufacturing processes.
  • Improving integration and manufacturing processes, including work instruction development.
  • Resolving product non-conformances and collaborating with the quality team to implement root-cause corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, systems, or industrial engineering.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing, design, and/or testing experience.
  • Understanding and familiarity with aerospace manufacturing, processing, and materials knowledge.
  • Hands-on confidence in troubleshooting, repairing, setup, and operating complex electrical/avionics, mechanical, and radar products.
  • Understanding and familiarity with manufacturing, processing, and materials knowledge within a safety-critical environment.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, such as Altium, NX, and Teamcenter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Electro-mechanical or electrical assembly and prototype development experience.
  • Experience with Quality Management System requirements such as AS9100 and CFR 21.137.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
