The Senior Marketing Manager of Sport, B2B, & Advancement role is a key business partner role within the USSF Marketing team, working closely with the Sporting, Soccer Growth, and Advancement teams. Additionally, this role will spearhead a newly created area of focus for the Federation surrounding B2B marketing opportunities at leading industry forums. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person who can bring fresh and innovative thinking to USSF, including future growth opportunities. A consensus builder and change maker, the candidate must have exceptional interpersonal skills to work across many departments to drive innovation and change. This role is seeking an individual who can take a holistic view of U.S. Soccer and incorporate a high level of planning, organization and measurement to help drive relevance for heightened areas of focus for the Federation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the GTM marketing plans for different Federation teams that target specialist audiences across U.S. Soccer.
  • Serve as a key business partner in helping amplify efforts focused on growing participation and retention in soccer.
  • Make soccer more inclusive, accessible, and safe for participants.
  • Empower our ecosystem to deliver the best experiences possible for participants.
  • Advocate for referee development at all levels of the game.
  • Promote and engage our Extended National Teams, Youth National Teams, and Alumni.
  • Maximize and diversify investments to sustainably grow the game at all levels.
  • Architect, defend and operationalize recommended business strategies for U.S. Soccer's relevancy via marquee conferences and events.
  • Serve as a marketing advocate for areas of the Federation that require reemphasized focus.
  • Present and sell-in proposals, business cases and investment for future marketing and growth opportunities to senior management.
  • Spearhead strategic plans with various marketing teams to activate all recommended plans.
  • Ensure impactful assets are created for each audience on time and on budget.
  • Establish a robust campaign evaluation process with recommendations for future planning and execution.
  • Support key internal events such as the Annual General Meeting and Commercial & Advancement summits.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of full-time experience in B2B marketing at a sports property, brand or agency.
  • Knowledge & passion for soccer in the U.S. is a definite advantage.
  • Diversified marketing experience across sports, B2B marketing, fundraising, and events.
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing strategies aimed at growing a sport’s penetration and participation levels.
  • Experience formulating campaigns and communication frameworks for the philanthropic community.
  • Experience in B2B sales.
  • Strong blend of high EQ + IQ.
  • Experience writing and delivering briefs for internal and external teams.
  • Solid understanding of analytics with the ability to analyze data and make actionable insights.
  • Experience managing multiple budgets with a keen eye for fiscal responsibility.
  • Significant experience designing and executing marketing strategy around different user journeys via digital marketing channels.
  • Expert knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Extensive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and energize people and build collaborative relationships.
  • Experience identifying different sports trends on a regional and national level.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to all domestic U.S. Soccer controlled matches.
