About the position

The Sr. Marketing Technology & Data Consultant at Caterpillar, Inc. is responsible for maximizing the adoption of the Google Marketing Platform and Google Analytics. This role involves acting as a Product Owner, gathering requirements from business partners, managing the Product Backlog, and ensuring high-quality delivery of digital solutions. The consultant will collaborate with various internal teams to provide insights and training, supporting Caterpillar's digital strategy and enhancing customer engagement through data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Product Owner and maximize the value of the Google Marketing Platform/Google Analytics product.
  • Create, maintain, prioritize, and communicate the Product Backlog to meet business partner requirements.
  • Gather requirements and convey them to the engineering team.
  • Make key decisions regarding project enablement and release dates in collaboration with business partners.
  • Represent customer needs and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Participate in Sprint Planning meetings, Reveals, and Retrospectives.
  • Inspect product progress at the end of each project and accept or reject work done by the Engineering/Development Team.
  • Champion governance and processes to ensure team effectiveness.
  • Provide enterprise training, reporting, and insights while maintaining documentation.
  • Innovate new product use ideas to meet business partner needs and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in analytics, statistics, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Implementation Specialist, Team Lead, or Product Owner.
  • 5+ years experience implementing or managing Google Analytics 360 Universal, GA4, or Firebase via Google Tag Manager.
  • Product Owner certification (CSPO from Scrum Alliance).
  • Google Analytics Individual Qualification.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Digital Marketing technologies, including campaign tracking and Salesforce integrations.
  • Strong accountability planning/organization and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with onshore/offshore team models.
  • Technically knowledgeable in Google Marketing Platform.
  • Proficient with GCP BigQuery, Microsoft O365 Products, Tableau, and Data Studio.
