About the position

The Sr. Mechanical CAD Support Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting customer engagement pursuits and proposals within the Phased Array Mechanical Design and Aircraft Integration team at Raytheon. This position involves mentoring and training in-house personnel, particularly in the antenna design technical domain, and contributing to the development of mechanical engineers' knowledge base. The role requires managing large CREO antenna design assemblies and providing detailed input for customer interfaces and proposal packages.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed input for customer interface and/or proposal packages
• Manage and manipulate large CREO antenna design assemblies
• Conduct open office hours for Space & Airborne Mechanical Systems Mechanical Engineering staff
• Support antenna design, pedestal design, and requirements definition for radar integration
• Mentor and guide individuals in the antenna design technical domain

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience in electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, cabling, surfacing and mechanisms
• Experience developing and implementing new products via pursuits and proposals
• Experience with Windchill data management (PDM) tool
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date

• Knowledge in Aircraft Integration
• Knowledge in Antenna mechanical design and Pedestal design
• Understanding of principles, theories and concepts for engineering design documentation
• Technical knowledge to prepare/modify drawings/models and create new 3D models and drawings
• Understanding of applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to models/drawings
