About the position

The Mechanical CAD Engineer position at Raytheon involves supporting customer engagement pursuits and proposals, particularly in the Phased Array Mechanical Design and Aircraft Integration team. The role focuses on mentoring and training in-house personnel in antenna design, while also managing complex CAD assemblies and providing detailed input for customer proposals. This position is essential for developing the knowledge base of mechanical engineers within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed input for customer interface and/or proposal packages.
• Manage and manipulate large CREO antenna design assemblies.
• Conduct open office hours for the Space & Airborne Mechanical Systems Mechanical Engineering staff to leverage specific knowledge in antenna requirements definition, design, and integration.
• Design antennas and pedestals, defining requirements for radar integration onto current and future platforms.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, structures, cabling, surfacing, and mechanisms.
• Experience developing and implementing new products via pursuits and proposals.
• Experience with Windchill data management (PDM) tool.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge in Aircraft Integration.
• Knowledge in Antenna mechanical design and Pedestal design.
• Understanding of principles, theories, and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation.
• Technical knowledge to perform tasks such as preparation/changes to drawings/models and create new 3D models and drawings with minimal to no direction.
• Understanding of applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to models/drawings.
