About the position

Aegis is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a client in the Chicago area. The role involves managing multiple projects in an industrial setting, requiring a blend of technical expertise and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in environments such as machining, fabrication, and structural design.

Responsibilities

• Manage 2-3 engineering projects simultaneously.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles in an industrial setting.
• Utilize Solidworks or AutoCAD Inventor for design tasks.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Oversee project execution and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• 7+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer, project engineer, or industrial engineer.
• Experience in machining, fabrication, welding, machine design, or structural design work.
• Hands-on experience in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in Solidworks or AutoCAD Inventor.
• Project management experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience in a Steel Mill or Forging Environment.
• Experience overseeing CAPEX projects.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical systems.
