About the position

The Senior Mechanical Power Generation Engineer at GPD Group is responsible for leading project designs in the power generation industry while mentoring and developing junior engineers. This role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and client engagement, ensuring successful project execution and fostering a collaborative work environment. The engineer will leverage their extensive experience in mechanical design and project management to deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs and drive company growth.

Responsibilities

• Project Management involving interaction with multiple stakeholders and a variety of services including engineering design, surveys, and construction administration.
• Technical design and oversight, acting as a hands-on technical leader while mentoring younger engineers.
• Strategic Planning to develop and execute actions aligned with Mechanical team and GPD Group goals.
• Client Engagement and Management to build and grow client relationships and understand their needs.
• Mentoring and developing the team to enhance their skills and career success in the industry.
• Administrative oversight using Key Performance indicators to track workflow tasks and ensure project consistency with plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of design experience in Power/Energy Generation and power delivery utilities.
• Experience managing engineers in design and documentation for project work.
• PE License preferred.
• Ability to read and understand project requirements including contract documents and technical plans.
• Extensive experience with Process Piping Design, P&ID's, Natural Gas systems, and Thermal stress analysis.
• Understanding of Mechanical Codes, Plumbing codes, NFPA, and ASME Standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with instrumentation and control systems design.
• Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication and professional writing skills.
