About the position
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Legend Biotech will engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals in the Pacific Northwest region, providing scientific support for research, education, and other Medical Affairs initiatives. This remote-based role requires the MSL to maintain scientific relationships, educate healthcare providers on clinical data, and assist with clinical trial oversight, all while adhering to ethical standards and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Identify KOLs within the assigned territory and establish and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs in both academic and community institutions.
- Execute activities at the assigned territory level in full alignment with Medical Affairs strategies and tactics.
- Assist in the oversight of Legend Biotech sponsored clinical trial sites, including site identification and patient accrual discussions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including those in strategic alliances.
- Assist with implementation and engagement of KOL participation in advisory boards and scientific meetings.
- Collect and communicate clinical insights and intelligence on the market environment and competition.
- Represent and support Legend Biotech at Hematology/Oncology scientific meetings and interpret findings for internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary local point of contact for investigators and their research staff.
- Demonstrate excellent oral presentation and communication skills to healthcare providers.
- Relay important medical insights to key stakeholders from field interactions and meetings.
- Identify MSL resource needs and assist in the development of training materials and other projects.
- Maintain in-depth scientific and therapeutic knowledge, including Legend Biotech and competitive products.
- Mentor newly hired MSLs.
- Fully understand and apply MSL SOP's/guidelines and company HCC/Regulatory/Legal guidelines.
Requirements
- 2-3 years relevant MSL work experience in therapeutic disease areas consistent with Legend assets and research interests.
- Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO) or other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, etc.) with 2+ years relevant therapeutic area clinical experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to partner and maintain relationships within the medical community.
- Knowledge or experience in Hematology/Oncology and/or Immunology is highly preferred.
- A valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record are required.
- Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/congresses/headquarters.
