About the position
The Sr Mfg Engineer at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is responsible for planning, designing, and constructing manufacturing facilities and related structures. This role involves determining facility specifications, resolving technical problems, and recommending production improvements to support the mission of the warfighter. The position requires a motivated leader who can enhance manufacturing methods and ensure efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow.
- Designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs.
- Communicates manufacturing capabilities and production schedules to facilitate production processes.
- Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment and material purchases.
- Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Engineering or other engineering related degree required and 5-7 years' experience OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools.
