About the position

As a Senior Manager on the Mobile Insights team at Spectrum, you will lead a team of GIS reporting specialists and application developers responsible for managing the Mobile Insights GIS Reporting platform. This role involves collaborating with product leadership to define key metrics, enabling the design and delivery of automated reporting and dashboards, and overseeing the creation of customer-readable reports. You will also partner with various teams to ensure the effective delivery of insights into location-enabled event data, while supporting project intake, staffing, and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of GIS reporting specialists and application developers.
• Define and deliver Product GIS reporting including metrics definition and map visualizations.
• Design and develop web applications to visualize large volumes of location-enabled event data.
• Assist leadership with project intake, roadmap, staffing plans, and budget management.
• Create automated, customer-readable reports using tools such as Tableau and Excel.
• Partner with IT and Business Intelligence to obtain new reference data sources for reports.
• Collaborate with User Experience & Design to ensure reports and dashboards are user-friendly and industry-leading.
• Ensure all projects are supported and completed on time, leveraging proper software development life cycle practices.
• Motivate team members through effective communication and awareness of project needs.
• Develop partnerships with corporate functional groups.

Requirements

• 6+ years of telecommunication industry leadership experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing products/services environment.
• 5+ years of experience working within a data platform/data analysis environment.
• 3+ years of managing complex projects.
• Experience leading teams of data analysts and data scientists.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated in-depth skills with SQL.
• In-depth understanding of design and implementation practices in Tableau desktop and server.
• Knowledgeable of Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of advanced analytics processes and reporting design principles.
• Effective business acumen and sense of urgency to achieve business results.
• Ability to manage development within various technology stacks.
• Knowledge of development strategies, project management, and business and technical consultancy.
• Effective presentation skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial concepts.
• Proficiency with web application development using JavaScript/HTML/CSS.
• Application development experience with the Elasticsearch Search API and OpenSearch.
• Familiarity with the ArcGIS Enterprise mapping and spatial analytics platform.
• Fluency with modern web application development tools and JavaScript libraries like React and Material-UI.
• Familiarity with web application development libraries such as ArcGIS JavaScript, D3.js, and Mapbox GL.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices.
• Full-stack application development experience with Python.
• Data management experience with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Data management experience with Hadoop technologies like Hive and Spark.
