About the position

The Senior Manager of Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering at TE Connectivity plays a crucial role in leading teams that drive new product development and optimize manufacturing processes. This position focuses on ensuring effective collaboration between product development and manufacturing engineering, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires strategic leadership to enhance operational efficiency and support the company's commitment to quality and innovation in the Appliances Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering teams and Manufacturing Plants.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in New Product Introductions and Process Capability, developing strategy across multiple businesses.
  • Contribute to defining operational strategy and develop the organization in support of business strategy, managing complex organizations with multiple sub-functions.
  • Lead the successful transfer of new products from Engineering to Manufacturing Operations, optimizing Time to Market for launches.
  • Play a pivotal role in LEANPD driven new product development projects, ensuring adherence to Lean principles.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development Engineering, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and other departments for effective communication.
  • Act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering to optimize designs for manufacturability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost, and cycle time, aligning with TEOA requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with specifications, regulatory agency requirements, ISO standards, and customer requirements, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Manage resources effectively to meet production schedules and project deadlines.

Requirements

  • US citizenship or US lawful permanent residency (green card) is required due to ITAR regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering and Process Development.
  • Advanced knowledge of core processes such as assembly, molding, plating, stamping, and machining.
  • Experience in a low volume, high mix environment is preferred.
  • Experience with military/aerospace products is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • GB or BB in Lean Design for Six Sigma preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic global environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software; knowledge of statistical software packages like JMP and Minitab is desirable.
  • Sound project management skills.
  • Ability to travel globally 25%-50% of the time.
