About the position

The Senior Manager of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) at Fluor is responsible for leading the APS MMC organization, focusing on managing the business functions of the APS MMC project. This role involves establishing project direction, maintaining client relationships, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. The position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and the ability to analyze and implement strategies that enhance project performance and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the APS MMC organization and manage business functions within the Operations & Maintenance function.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular communication to understand project operations and gather feedback.
  • Manage work according to contract terms, optimizing returns and eliminating leakage.
  • Identify profit share opportunities and implement value-added incentive programs for performance excellence.
  • Review and manage risks as assigned by the director of operations, identifying significant business risks.
  • Develop on-site assessments of client operations to identify future requirements and upselling opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with contract and Operating System Requirements (OSR) by clearly defining and documenting responsibilities.
  • Develop and adhere to the Site Business Plan (SBP), monitoring budgets and performance.
  • Support sales efforts by assisting in presentations, estimates, and proposals, including negotiating commercial terms.
  • Manage personnel, providing development opportunities and performance feedback.
  • Analyze situations, identify problems, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Organize and prioritize complex projects and tasks effectively, meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.

Requirements

  • Accredited four-year degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Seven years of work-related experience or a combination of education and experience totaling eleven years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including management, clients, and vendors.
  • Technical knowledge necessary to complete job duties and responsibilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-effective manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in engineering or business field of study.
  • Experience managing small to medium complex O&M sites or projects.
  • Experience in an operating commercial plant.
  • Experience in heavy industrial environments as a Maintenance Manager or Senior Supervisor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
