About the position

As a Senior Manager of Project Controls at International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various critical areas including Capital Estimate Review and Validation, Capital Project Cost Control, and Cost vs Capital determination. This role carries global responsibility for cost control across projects exceeding $1 million, ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously monitored and reported. You will be tasked with conducting monthly cost reviews for these projects and generating detailed forecasting documents that will guide the financial trajectory of each project throughout its lifecycle. In collaboration with Project Managers, you will assess the necessity of cost control professionals to assist in the creation of forecasting documents. Your expertise will also extend to providing coaching and guidance on financial topics related to project management, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the knowledge to manage costs effectively. Your proficiency in SAP will be crucial, as you will utilize this tool to oversee cost control processes and challenge the scope of work that forms the basis of project estimates. Your responsibilities will include reviewing estimates over $1 million for budgeting and funding requests, issuing validation letters that formally approve estimates for use in Gate reviews, and identifying potential risks and opportunities associated with these estimates. You will also be responsible for reviewing project schedules to identify issues that may impact costs and attending Engineering Readiness Assessments (ERA) and Gate reviews to communicate your validation findings. Additionally, you will provide training on estimate and cost control to users as needed, and you will be the decision-maker on determinations regarding Cost vs Capital. This position not only requires a strong technical background but also a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace.
