About the position

Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology team is looking for a passionate Senior Engineering Manager to lead the MarTech Tooling team. This team is responsible for building a suite of tooling solutions for marketing needs for our internal Marketing Partners to build marketing assets and manage them throughout their lifecycle for Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. The team currently has some remote members and you will be a key Engineering leader helping define the scope, direction, and the growth of the team. You will have an opportunity to help Marketing cut down their operational costs and help the bottom line for Disney overall. You will identify and drive automation and optimization for all the current processes used by Marketing teams in the areas of Creative Production, Asset Management, Content Management Systems (CMS), and Marketing Operations and have a huge impact on the operational efficiency for the organization. As a Senior Engineering Leader for the MarTech Tooling team, you will create, drive, and help execute the technical vision and evolution of the applications owned by the team. You will identify opportunities to create solutions to improve Marketing efficiency and visibility for operations. You will lead architectural and design discussions to help the team build efficient and optimized workflows for configuration-driven applications. Working with Product Managers, Product Designers, QA, Support, and other cross-functional teams, you will drive the vision and roadmap for the team. Additionally, you will lead and grow the team by hiring and retaining top engineering talent and engineering leaders, fostering a growth mindset, and providing coaching to the Engineering leaders in your organization.

Responsibilities

  • Create, drive and help execute the technical vision and evolution of the applications owned by the team.
  • Identify opportunities to create solutions to improve Marketing efficiency and visibility for operations.
  • Lead architectural and design discussions to help the team build efficient and optimized workflows for configuration driven applications.
  • Work with Product Managers, Product Designers, QA, Support and other cross-functional teams to drive the vision and roadmap for the team.
  • Lead and grow the team by hiring and retaining top engineering talent and engineering leaders.
  • Foster a growth mindset and provide coaching to the Engineering leaders in your organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of total experience out of which 5+ years of people management experience and 2+ years of experience managing Engineering Managers.
  • Demonstrated success working on complex workflows and systems to drive efficient processes.
  • Experience hiring top engineering talent and making tough decisions.
  • Strong partner and communicator with ability to articulate the team vision and technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations and a fast-paced environment with constantly changing business needs.
  • Excellent motivator driving influence and high throughput from the team.
  • Passionate about engineering best practices and leading by example.

Nice-to-haves
