About the position

We are seeking a Sr. Microsoft 365 Admin for a Fulltime Hybrid position requiring a minimum of 2 days per week Onsite at our Kansas City, MO office. This position is responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the firm's Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online. The Sr. Microsoft 365 Admin oversees the user experience, ensuring secure operation of the cloud-based infrastructure, providing seamless access to tools and applications, and addressing any issues that arise within the platform. The role involves implementing, managing, administering, and supporting Microsoft 365 core technologies including but not limited to Microsoft Exchange Online and Outlook; Email Flow Management and Microsoft Entra ID User and Group Management. The Sr. Admin will oversee the configuration and support of other M365 services such as Point Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams. Additionally, the position requires managing user accounts, setting up permissions, and monitoring system health while safeguarding the firm's data and compliance with relevant policies. The successful candidate will configure and maintain mailboxes, including email forwarding, shared mailboxes, and email security settings to ensure secure and efficient email communication. They will also develop and implement project plans for Microsoft 365 related projects such as migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft 365, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Providing advice to vendors when required and working with other support teams to ensure the successful delivery of M365 operations and support services is also a key responsibility. The Sr. Microsoft 365 Admin will contribute to internal and external communications as they relate to M365 architecture, performance, capacity, and capabilities to support business processes. They will provide and analyze data for management reporting and metrics, collaborate on the development and implementation of policies for the use of Exchange/M365, and ensure appropriate availability of Exchange/M365 services including tracking and reporting of key metrics. Furthermore, they will implement and manage M365 compliance features, including data loss prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and retention policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, while collaborating closely with internal security to ensure compliance with internal security objectives. Conducting root cause analyses, identifying appropriate solutions, and implementing them is essential. The Sr. Admin will maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures, resolve incidents escalated from the technology solutions center, and proactively monitor and address support tickets via the ticketing solution. For up to a week at a time, the Sr. Admin will be on-call on a scheduled basis 24 hours a day, remaining in a position to receive support calls and answer them quickly and thoroughly in a professional manner. They will leverage diagnostic tools and collaborate with vendors to find root cause and resolution of major incidents and problems, and mentor and cross-train team members on existing and new M365 application services. Good organizational skills and the ability to follow-through on projects with minimal supervision are essential, along with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to condense complex information into simple language for the appropriate audience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and two years of related work experience; or an Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school and four years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience administering Office365 and Exchange Online environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals) are a plus.
