About the position
The Sr MLOPS/DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning pipelines, managing on-prem infrastructure, and ensuring best practices in software development. This role requires a strong background in machine learning frameworks, containerization, and configuration management, with a focus on supporting data science initiatives in a research environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy machine learning pipelines using tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, or Airflow.
- Manage on-prem infrastructure with a focus on containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement configuration management practices using Yarn and Yaml files.
- Perform infrastructure management tasks including Linux patching, troubleshooting, and load balancing.
- Oversee version control using GitLab/GitHub for on-prem infrastructure.
- Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop and Hive for data processing.
- Create data visualizations using Grafana, Prometheus, and Elk.
- Develop scripts in Python and other languages to automate tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of related experience in MLOps/DevOps roles.
- Proven experience with machine learning concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Strong understanding of software development best practices including version control and CI/CD.
- Experience with on-prem infrastructure build out of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of configuration management tools and practices.
- Experience with Linux infrastructure management and troubleshooting.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with big data storage management (MapR storage, EMC Isilon, Vast storage).
- Advanced Linux administration skills.
- Expertise in additional scripting languages (Ruby, bash).
- Experience with security practices including LDAP integration and Vault development.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware administration, Harvester).
- Familiarity with operating systems such as CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
- Background in health research.
