About the position

The Sr MLOPS/DevOps Engineer will be responsible for building and deploying machine learning pipelines, managing on-prem infrastructure, and ensuring best practices in software development. This role requires a strong background in machine learning frameworks, containerization, and configuration management, with a focus on supporting data science initiatives in a research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy machine learning pipelines using tools like Kubeflow, MLflow, or Airflow.
  • Manage on-prem infrastructure with a focus on containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Implement configuration management practices using Yarn and Yaml files.
  • Perform infrastructure management tasks including Linux patching, troubleshooting, and load balancing.
  • Oversee version control using GitLab/GitHub for on-prem infrastructure.
  • Utilize big data technologies such as Hadoop and Hive for data processing.
  • Create data visualizations using Grafana, Prometheus, and Elk.
  • Develop scripts in Python and other languages to automate tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience in MLOps/DevOps roles.
  • Proven experience with machine learning concepts and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Strong understanding of software development best practices including version control and CI/CD.
  • Experience with on-prem infrastructure build out of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools and practices.
  • Experience with Linux infrastructure management and troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with big data storage management (MapR storage, EMC Isilon, Vast storage).
  • Advanced Linux administration skills.
  • Expertise in additional scripting languages (Ruby, bash).
  • Experience with security practices including LDAP integration and Vault development.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware administration, Harvester).
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as CentOS, RHEL, and Ubuntu.
  • Background in health research.
