About the position

The Senior Manager of Marketing Operations and Planning at Venmo will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational excellence within the marketing team. This position involves overseeing marketing operations strategy, ensuring effective execution of marketing programs, and optimizing collaboration across various functions to meet business objectives. The role includes responsibilities in long-term planning, resource allocation, budget management, and process optimization, while directly managing a marketing operational and analytics professional.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of marketing operations processes, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns and initiatives.
  • Define and distill marketing strategies on an ongoing cadence, in line with business asks.
  • Build and maintain operational workflows, tools, and dashboards to streamline cross-functional collaboration.
  • Manage the development, tracking, and reporting of marketing KPIs, ensuring data-driven insights inform decision-making.
  • Drive the annual and quarterly marketing planning process, including budget forecasting, capacity planning, and strategic goal setting.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring effective budget management in alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage one direct report, providing coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for growth.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing processes, tools, and systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing operations, planning, or related functions within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and influence across teams.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, budget management, and process optimization within a marketing function.
  • Strong understanding of marketing technology (e.g., CRM, automation tools) and analytics platforms, with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, including forecasting, reporting, and optimization.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in reporting, KPIs, and marketing performance management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams to build alignment and drive results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in FinTech, payments, or consumer technology industries.
