About the position

The Senior MRI Technologist Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Remote MRI Technologist in delivering high-quality imaging services to patients. This position emphasizes patient care, safety, and effective communication with various stakeholders, including patients, family members, and medical personnel. The assistant is responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational standards and protocols while facilitating smooth departmental operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Remote MRI Technologist in performing high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
  • Properly place and maintain patient IV access as needed, using aseptic technique.
  • Administer MR contrast agents as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Assist with the overall workflow of the department to ensure completion of work assignments.
  • Monitor and order supplies to avoid disruption of service.
  • Investigate and report service malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of service calls.
  • Ensure patient history forms are accurate and reviewed with the Remote Technologist.
  • Transport patients to and from the MR suite, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Assist with clinical accreditation applications and inspections as needed.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • ARRT (R) and state license, if applicable.
  • Alpha RT Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competency in the clinical area of practice.
  • Excellent people skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with Radiologists and referring physicians.

Nice-to-haves

  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • One-year experience in the medical field preferred.
  • I.V. skills preferred, with training provided prior to patient care initiation.
  • Familiarity with current software packages such as Google apps, HIS/RIS, and PACS.
