About the position

The Sr. Natural Resource Program Manager (Mentor) position is designed to support the White River National Forest's leadership team by managing complex natural resource management tasks and mentoring the next generation of agency employees. This role emphasizes collaboration with various staff members to meet agency priorities while also focusing on the development of forest staff through coaching and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Forest Leadership Team with complex Natural Resource Management tasks focused on meeting Agency priorities.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to forest staff to develop the next generation of Agency employees.
  • Engage in natural resources related planning, design, and implementation projects and activities based on the candidate's background and skills.
  • Manage complex tasks and activities related to Forest Priorities, Regional Priorities, and Programs of the Secretary.
  • Mentor and coach Regional Office Staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in natural resource management or a BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy, or a related field.
  • Experience in multiple leadership positions within the Forest Service, such as District Ranger or Deputy Forest Supervisor.
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel.
