About the position

SMX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the Advanced Cyber Infrastructure Center (ACIC) at Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and the ability to manage and maintain complex network infrastructures. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance and the willingness to undergo a CI Polygraph. The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and security of the network infrastructure, which is vital for supporting national security initiatives and other mission-critical operations. In this role, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting and resolving advanced network issues, collaborating with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems, and maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations and changes. The engineer will also mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineers, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to handle the demands of the network environment. Compliance with security protocols and procedures is paramount, and the engineer will be expected to ensure that all network operations adhere to these standards. Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network security.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to submit to a CI Polygraph.
• Certifications CCNP, Security+ce, or equivalent.
