About the position

The Network Engineer position is a critical role within our IT department, responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our network infrastructure. The successful candidate will review proposed designs and architectures, identifying potential risks and providing remediation recommendations that align with established standards and the enterprise's overall architecture. This role involves deploying and maintaining hyperconverged systems and solutions within a hybrid cloud environment, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the regional network engineering team to ensure optimal performance and cybersecurity measures are in place. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the Network Engineer will collaborate with operations delivery management to ensure proper mapping of systems to services monitoring. The role also includes managing and supporting a diverse infrastructure that encompasses Windows, Linux, AWS, and VMware environments. The engineer will administer and support the backup and recovery infrastructure, ensuring that data integrity, security, and performance are maintained across all database systems. The position requires the development of a support plan in collaboration with key IT stakeholders, managing services, incidents, and changes through a request ticket management system. The Network Engineer will also provide on-call and after-hours support to address incidents, maintain infrastructure, and support operational efforts, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews proposed designs and architectures, identifying risks and providing remediation recommendations in line with established standards and the enterprise's overall architecture.
  • Deploys and maintains hyperconverged systems and solutions in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the regional network engineering team to ensure reliability, performance, and cybersecurity.
  • Works with operations delivery management to ensure proper mapping of systems to services monitoring.
  • Manages and supports Windows, Linux, AWS, and VMware infrastructure.

  • Administers and manages database systems ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Information Technology experience (Required).
  • 5+ years of Network Technology experience (Required).
  • Network or Cyber Security Certification (Preferred).
  • Strong experience with Wireless, SD WAN, and Firewalls.
  • 2+ years of public and private cloud engineering experience (Required).
  • Strong experience with Linux and AWS (Required).
  • Database Management Experience is a Huge Bonus.
  • Solid understanding of information systems infrastructure and application capabilities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external constituents.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Experience collaboratively analyzing requirements, designing, and implementing technical solutions across both private and public cloud technology spectrums.
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
