We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer / Solaris Systems Administrator to join our team in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities

  • Support the upgrade of the customer's operational environment to an upgraded platform and software product environment capable of supporting operations.
  • Collaborate with the team to design the best solution for success.
  • Plan, create, and implement a secure network architecture that meets the needs and goals of the customer.
  • Lead by example, setting high standards for technical excellence, problem-solving, and proactive approaches to challenges.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 10 years of Network Engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in implementing Highly Secure Networks that follow the principles of modularity, hierarchy, redundancy, resiliency, security, and scalability.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Network Security implementing and managing various network security measures, such as encryption, authentication, authorization, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and more.
  • Experience with NSA approved cryptographic communications security devices.
  • Experience with Solaris Operating Systems, also Solaris Flash Archive and Solaris Jump Start Server.
  • Experience managing disk arrays partitions - LUNs mappings.
  • Experience with working as a Systems Administrator specifically in Unix/Solaris.
  • Experience with Unix Auditing.
  • Experience working with classified networks.
  • Experience with shell scripts such as BASH, CSH, SH.
  • Experience installing and implementing network hardware.
  • Experience with Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations).
  • Experience with Network Analysis and Optimization.
  • Use of current and emergent network design principles and protocols.
  • Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
  • Responsible for safeguarding an organization's computer systems and networks from security breaches, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendors.
  • Scripting languages such as Pearl, Python, coding for network threshold events.
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for network improvements.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation for reference and compliance purposes.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
