About the position

The Sr. Network Engineer role is focused on designing, implementing, and managing network solutions, particularly in configuring VPNs and BGP routing. The position requires a strong understanding of network architecture and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively. This hybrid role allows for a combination of onsite and remote work, with a preference for candidates who can work onsite from the start.

Responsibilities

• Configure site-to-site IPSec VPNs over Cisco routers.
• Configure and manage BGP routing over VPN circuits.
• Evaluate the existing network, gather data, and collaborate with a PM to design new solutions.
• Write and implement Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for network configurations.
• Create and maintain detailed network diagrams using Visio.
• Articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to management.

Requirements

• Proven ability to evaluate networks, gather requirements, and design solutions at an architect level.
• Experience configuring IPSec VPNs and BGP on Cisco routers.
• Proficient in multiple infrastructure technologies, including hardware architecture, performance testing, monitoring, and operations.
• Knowledge of compliance and security considerations in network design.
• Experience with agile methodologies, program management, and network management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with network performance benchmarking.
• Familiarity with planning and provisioning in network engineering.
