About the position

The Windows Server Network Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing network systems for small to medium-sized business (SMB) clients in Kern County. This role requires a deep understanding of Windows Server environments and the ability to manage and administer various network components effectively. The ideal candidate will be passionate and driven to succeed in a collaborative and creative workplace.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network systems for new SMB clients.
• Administer and implement Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
• Write and maintain scripts for network administration tasks.
• Implement TCP/IP routing and addressing, including subnetting and VPNs.
• Manage layer 2 and layer 3 switching configurations.
• Administer SMB firewalls such as Sonicwall, Watch Guard, Fortinet, and Cisco SA.

Requirements

• Detailed understanding of the Windows Server Active Directory environment.
• Proven ability to administer and implement GPOs and ACLs.
• Ability to write and maintain scripts for administration purposes.
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP routing and addressing, including subnetting and VPNs.
• Comfortable with layer 2 and layer 3 switching.
• Experience administering SMB firewalls.
