About the position

We are GDIT. General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for our Air Force customer in Hampton, VA. The GDIT Air Defense Communications Service program and its employees have the responsibility of maintaining 99.999% availability for the DoD/Air Force Air Defense Communications Systems, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. As a Senior Network Engineer, you will analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. You will perform maintenance and upgrades of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks. Your role will involve maintaining network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintaining system backup and recovery capability. You will coordinate the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed. Additionally, you will create plans and configure systems for data communication networks, design and build hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks, and evaluate new communications technologies to enhance the capabilities of the network. You will also maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned and may coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance (TS eligible)
  • Must meet the certification requirement of DoD Directive 8140.01 and 8570.01-M or otherwise stated in individual task order.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA) (Highly Preferred)
  • Enterprise Level Network Experience
  • BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience
