About the position

The Sr. Network Engineer position is a critical role within our IT and OT network infrastructure projects, based in Houston, Texas. This long-term contract role requires a high level of expertise in networking technologies and ICS/SCADA environments. The engineer will provide developmental leadership and technical guidance to junior engineers while leading complex network engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, building, and execution of complex network engineering IT/OT projects
  • Collaborate with network engineers and architects to innovate and improve network engineering processes
  • Participate in the evaluation and deployment of complex network technology solutions, providing constructive feedback and recommendations
  • Maintain adherence to industry and enterprise best practices, contributing to their development and documentation
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, IT/Cybersecurity, and third-party vendors to understand business needs and deliver high-quality solutions
  • Take responsibility for the successful and effective execution of IT/OT network engineering projects that align with business needs
  • Utilize skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Backup Technologies, Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Datacenter, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to perform role effectively.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
  • Proficiency in using Checkpoint
  • Deep understanding and experience in Backup Technologies
  • Familiarity with Computer Hardware
  • Demonstrable experience in Configuration Management
  • Experience working in a Datacenter environment
  • Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Prior experience in a similar role (highly preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to undertake continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest industry trends.
