The Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the Ground Infrastructure team for the NGG-OPIR project. This position requires a seasoned professional with over 7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, particularly with Cisco routers and switches. The ideal candidate will have the capability to build networks from the ground up and possess strong network design skills, often working with minimal guidance. An active Secret security clearance is mandatory, with a preference for candidates who also hold an active TS/SCI clearance. In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, and COTS software products. The position involves performing both Network Administration and System Administration tasks within the scope of the contract. Familiarity with Cisco Nexus, ASA, and FMC technologies is essential, as these are integral to the Software-Defined Networking and virtualized networking infrastructure utilized by the team. The Network Engineer will monitor and address system performance issues, apply network configurations, and lead network design efforts. Additionally, the role includes providing on-the-job training for system configuration, assisting in the deployment of software and hardware deliveries, and supporting special projects. The engineer will also collaborate with operational crews and contractor teams to resolve system and network issues effectively. Knowledge of advanced networking concepts and best practices in network design, particularly in a software development environment, is highly preferred.
